Well, 2022 was a terrible year for biking. I only managed a bit under 400 miles. I developed some severe arthritis in my right hip and had too much pain to do much biking. I had right hip replacement surgery on August 10. Gradual recovery was the most important thing for the rest of 2022.
The weather is not great for bicycling in the spring of 2023. We came close to setting a snowfall record here in Minneapolis. Good news is that my new right hip is doing well. I have been on some rides as biking conditions are finally improving. I do not have any problems riding so far. I just need to get in shape. Weather in June was great fr biking. Canadian fires sometimes cause the air quality to deteriorate to the point where it's unwise to ride. The July temperatures get into the 90s making morning rides the best. The August temperatures bounced around between very hot and plesaant. The air quality has been better too. I managed to start training seriously for a September bike tour to Brainerd and back.
